Catherine Gaunt has over 15 years experience of editing and writing educational textbooks and reference books, for a range of clients including including Pearson Longman, Heinemann, HarperCollins, Chambers, Times Books, Facts on File, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, ISTE and Diagram Visual Information. She has copy-edited school science and mathematics courses and edited technical academic books and papers.

She is also familiar with database management.

Writing commissions include:

  • Co-author, Physics Student Textbook Grade 10 (Pearson Education/Ethiopian Ministry of Education).
  • Forensic Science Experiments on File  and Physics Experiments on File. Each book contains 60 science experiments which she designed to cover basic concepts relating to the school curriculum. Both these books are published by Facts on File, an American education and reference publisher.
  •  Over 70 entries for Chambers Book of Speeches.  ·        
  • Two 1000-entry glossaries – Physical Sciences and Chemistry – for Diagram Visual Information. 
  • Over 50 new entries for Chambers Dictionary of World History (2005). Many of these entries were science-related topics such as the Framework for Climate Change, Vienna Convention and Montreal Protocol.
