Catherine Gaunt has over 10 years experience of editing and writing educational textbooks and reference books, for a range of clients including Pearson Longman, HarperCollins, Chambers, Times Books, Facts on File, Igloo, and Diagram Visual Information. She has recently copy-edited GCSE science and mathematics course companions, copy-edited and proofread secondary school mathematics textbooks and teachers’ guides, and copy-edited the Children's World Atlas for Igloo books. 

She is also familiar with database management and web design.

Writing commissions include:

  • Forensic Science Experiments on File (2003) and Physics Experiments on File (2002). Each book contains 60 science experiments which she designed to cover basic concepts relating to the school curriculum. Both these books are published by Facts on File, an American education and reference publisher.
  • Over 70 entries for Chambers Book of Speeches (2006).
  • Over 50 new entries for Chambers Dictionary of World History (2005). Many of these entries were science-related topics such as the Framework for Climate Change, Vienna Convention and Montreal Protocol.
  • Two 1000-entry glossaries – Physical Sciences (1998), Chemistry (1999) – for Diagram Visual Information.
