Nancy E.M. Bailey began her career in publishing with Longman Cartermill in 1985 handling the in-house editing and academic liaison for the groundbreaking British Expertise in Science and Technology database, the first to bring together commerce and cutting-edge research in UK universities. She has specialized in the production of academic monographs and reference work since 1993. She has developed expertise with a variety of software packages mounted on a Mac platform, and can take a book from design specification to final edit in QuarkXpress. She has also ‘Americanized’ books for US publication and is familiar with the Chicago Style. She has undertaken work for numerous publishers including HarperCollins and Chambers. - Chambers Book of Speeches (2006), writing contexts and footnotes
